A true
advertising revolution took place in the 1950s and the 1960s. Life was
radically changing after the depression and World War II. Social and sexual
freedom, as well as music and many other aspects played critical roles in
shaping the advertising of this time era. New York was the main hub for major
advertising agencies. Creative campaigns were being thrown into the mix and the
advertisements directly corresponded with society at that time.
In
this small website I have put together a variety of small categories outlining
my thoughts on this era of advertising. I argue the changes the advertising
world went through during the 1950s and 1960s directly corresponded to
America’s healthy economy, outlined gender roles, and sense of independence and
sexual freedom.
